Summer Breeze July Project Kit

Okay so this "project" just started out as a simple luggage tag, that was supposed to be used like on a Key chain, or on the strap of your purse. WELL after I got done, I realized I also thought it would be so cute as part of  "mini" tag album.. so I used the other pieces of the kit to create a mini book as well. I show you both ways.. so feel free to do whatever suits you!  I created this fun tag for a friend of mine, Kara Yancy.. I recently took their family pictures and thought it would be fun to give her something small, to place inside of her purse, showcasing them.

I can't wait to see what you all come up with.. Remember to share your finished projects on our flickr GROUP!

1. First step is to cut a piece of paper that will fit just inside the perimeter of the luggage tag. Mine was 3.75 by 2.5".. but if you want a little more "edge" around it.. cut it a bit smaller. Inside the luggage tag itself is a white sheet of paper that is to be removed when you are ready to insert your tag. You could also use that as a template for your paper.

For the main paper, I used the backside of the turquoise paper from Scenic Route.

2. step two is to cut another piece of paper  just smaller of the first one and adhere it to the top. I used the Paper strip from Cosmo Cricket. This project is so small and there are so many different patterns on the strip paper.. that you have a lot to choose from!

3. Next cut a strip of paper about .75" wide out of the red floral paper from Scenic Route and place it overlapping the yellow paper. I used scalloped scissors to give it a more girly look.

4. Next place one of the label tags overlapping the red paper. I just wrapped mine around to the back (they are long).. but you could cut yours in half and save the other side for something else.

5. Next place your picture on. My picture was only about 1.75"x1" wide.. REALLY tiny.. I used my computer to print it out :)

6. Next place the chipboard piece on top.

7. Now use one of the flower and bend it first.. then adhere it to the left-hand side of the flower. Place a button in the center.

8. Next step is to take a letter sticker and place it inside of the chipboard circle. I used the letter Y because my friend's last name is Yancy. Then I wrote "yancy" on the side.

9. Last step you can do two ways.. First I place the tag onto the bottom of the luggage tag.. THEN I used rubons to overlap the luggage tag and my tag. OR you could also just insert the tag you made into the luggage tag and seal the top down.. then place the rubons on top of the actual luggage tag.. to give it a little more depth!

All done! You can use this tag alone.. hanging on your key chain, on your purse.. or where ever! Or you can follow the steps below to create the "mini" album using other piece from the Kit :)
Have fun!

These next steps are only if you want to create the "mini" album.. I thought I would show you both the single tag version and this version if you wanted something that could be inside your purse.. or on a table to show people.

1. First step is to take the red tag and place a circle sticker on it.. with the sticker coming off the top.

2. Cut off the access sticker.

3. cut out the word "you" from the paper strip and adhere it to the tag (BUT if you want to add another paper, as I ended up doing.. go down to STEP 5 first and then come back to Step 3.)

4. Next place one of the flower stickers overlapping the circle sticker as shown.

5. Okay. so this is kinda tricky.. I decided AFTER step 4 to add the blue paper under the "you" paper.. so if you want to.. make sure you do it before you glue down the "you" paper. The strip is just the same size larger than the "you" paper and you just place is just down and over from the You paper.
The next step is to punch a hole in the "you" paper where the "o" is.. and place your blue eyelet circle from WE R Memory Keepers,  inside the punched circle. Then use your eyelet setter to set the back.

6. Next step is to write the word "Love".. on the tag.. so it reads.. Love you..

7. Last step is to take one of the "half" flower looking chipboard pieces and place it slightly under the blue grommet. Then you are done!

1. This tag is just basically the recipe card. The first step is to write what ever words you want by "recipe"

2. Next step is to use the Rubons and put the orange flower border along the button.

2. Then full in the ingredients.. I used words the related to my topic.. Recipe for Success..

"love, happiness.. Patience.. etc.." you would fill in what ever words fit your "recipe"

3. Next step is to make the flower! Cut a circle out of your red fabric about 3" wide

2. cut a circle out of your Yellow paper from Cosmo Cricket, about 2" wide. Crumple it up.. then adhere it to the top of the fabric.

3. Next place a large button on top. Your buttons will vary.. but you will have large ones in your button bag.

4. Final step to making the flower,  is to adhere a rubon to the top of the flower.

5. Next adhere the flower onto the recipe card.. then fill in the "Directions"

To have this card fit with the other tag.. you will need to punch a large hold in it.. for the luggage tag string to fit through.

1. The next tag is the Inventory tag. I LOVE these tags. I got them online at Staples. COM.. and think they are so fun for a lot of different things. First step is the cut the strip of paper on the "paper strip" from Cosmo Cricket.. that has the scalloped design on it. I follow the scalloped and cut it out with scissors.. .

2. Next cut a strip about 1/2" wide from the green polka dot paper from Scenic Route and place it on top. As Shown.

3. Next add your picture.. again the picture wasn't very big.. same as the first one. Then I added one of the "flower" looking chipboard pieces from American Crafts.

4. Next I added a chipboard sticker circle to the top of the flower.

5. Next I used the letter stickers again for the letter "f" to form the word "family".

6. Next write the rest of the word "family" using a black pen.

7. I also used the "lucky" stamp and stamped it right next to the photo. LOVE these little stamps!

8. Step eight, is to apply 2 rows of rubons (i used the red arrows and the green zigzag) onto the end of the inventory tag. This just gives it a fun little texture.

Now you are done! I had to punch my hole larger in the tag.. in order to get the luggage tag claps through.. so keep that in mind :)

The final step is to create the "lucky to have you" tag that is on the very front.

1. . First stamp the ticket onto the backside of the green paper.

2. Second you will cut out the tag and then stamp the "lucky" stamp again. Or you can use the love one.. or superstar.. they are all so cute!

3. Last step is to cut out around the edges of the tag.. so it has more of a "ticket" shape to it.
Since this tag is so small, I didn't try to put the luggage clasp thing through it. I just punched a little hole and actually used the string from the red tag and tie it through that string.. so it's really only attached to the red tag..

And now you are done!
