May My Boy's Project kit Instructions

I know I say this every month, but the project kit this month was fun for me to make. Probably because it was about my very best friend, my husband Ben. I wanted to create something for him, for Father's day, that could be a keepsake. Something simple but fun (because you know guys have a short attention span! LOL.. sepcially when it comes to "scrapbooking"). I think this album would be perfect for just about ANY man in your life, husband, son, brother, father, uncle, friend.. you name it. It would also be a fun "summer" album as well!

I can't wait to see what you all come up with.. Remember to share your finished projects on our flickr GROUP!

First Step is the take out your chipboard album. Love this album, and love that you can add your own pages to it!

2. Next use your project kit stamp and stamp randomly in a couple of places. You will notice on the next step where we lay the paper so keep that in mind :)

3. Next cut three strips of paper from your stash in different widths and overlap each other. Make sure you repunch your hole if you cover it with your strips.

4. The next step is to adhere circle stickers, chipboard and buttons to the right handside.

5.Next use your pen to write the title of your book, mine was simply, I LOVE YOU.

6. I love to use rubons to add texture and depth to my paper and pages. Here I simply used one of the rubons borders and overlapped the paper as shown.

7.Here is a picture of that as a full page.

8. Next I took one of the arrows (it was a large arrow) and stamps over it using my stamp. Yours may be different sizes depending on which sheet you got in your kit (they varried)

9.Next step was to ink around the edges of the arrow and over the top of some of it.

10. Lastly I cut the arrow down just a bit (the stem of the arrow was too long) so I cut it down and then placed it on the front cover as shown. You can also see I used one of the transparencies (the "Love") one overlapping the arrow and the other elements by simply punching a hole in the side of it and putting on the rings of the album before the cover sheet.

Next step is to create the inside pages. I wanted to do pages that started with the number "one" and ended with the number "10", there are tons of number tabs, so you could do more if you want. I didn't really do a "top 10 reason why I love you" book, it's more of a book that just says what I love about him, qualities he has.. etc.. but numbered each one to give it a theme".

 Let's start with page one

1. This page was fairly simple and easy. Basically I used the Teresa Collins "note card"  sheet and cut them all into individual "note cards".  You can see they are double sided, so use the ones and sides that work for you!

2. First step was to use the letter stickers to write my first word. My word for this page was loyal, so I used the small cursive stickers and then I used one of the "tab" punch outs from daisy D's and staples it on.

3. here is a finished picture of that sample

4. Next I used one of the green coupons and adhered the number one over the coupon and wrong the word Loyal again on it.

As you can see, I didn't attach the green tag to the page, I actually just punched a hole in it and when I placed all the pages into the album I let that tag hang loose in front of the first page.

The next page is a random page, it doesn't have a number on it (though you could put on on it).

for the base of this "page" i used the backside of the red argyle paper from Teresa Collins, if you look on the back that they have these cute little tags, I used these tags a lot throughout the book, so I made sure to cut out the ones I wanted before I started using that paper and then used the left over scraps for the rest of the book.  I then printed out a picture just smaller than the tag and placed it over the argyle side.

But when you flip the through the book, the back side then has the "date" and round stamp thing showing where you can write more journaling.

2. Next I used one of the Daisy D's punch-out tags and wrapped it around the edge of the paper and stapled it on.

3. final step was to place a button over it and write Ben's name on it.

This is how it fits into the book. Notice the backside of page one, is also available for journaling!

onto page two! .

1. Start with layering 3 strips of paper (random lengths and widths) onto the next sheet in your chipboard album.

2. Next i use a circle punch and punched out a orange piece of paper and then placed one of the chipboard circles and the number 2 tag over it.

3. Next I place a piece of the green rickrack over the paper and then the tag on top. The "document" paper you see here

4. Next I added the letter stickers "kind" to my page.

5. I wanted to add some texture to the stickers because they were so bold, so I used rubons over the top of the letter stickers to break it up a bit.

6..  I wanted to add some details to the lower page as well, using the rubons, so I used the bubbles rubons in two part. First par was along the side of the picture coming down.

6. Last detail was to use one of the circle dotted rubons and overlap it onto the stamp. I then used one of the little gems included in your goody bag, as the center.

Now this page is complete!

 Next is page 3!

I used the transparency number "3" from Daisy D's. I LOVE these.. seriously.. they come in all the alphabets and all the numbers.. you can do so many things with them!

1. So first cut off the top of the transp. Then use the tab punch-out and staple it onto the side.

2. Second and final step is the place the "cool" chipboard piece on it.. or you can use what ever one first your subject!

Next page is page 4. For this page, again, I used one of the note cards from the Teresa Collins paper that we cut out.

1. I cut two strips of paper and overlapped them on the note card. Then I placed one of the journaling stickers from Scenic Route over it.

2. I wrote the word "genuine" and then placed a star chipboard piece that I stamped using the stamp again.. and inked the edges.

3. Last step was to adhere the number 4 over the star.

Then write your journaling! (still have that one to do! LOL.. but i have a few weeks  until Father's day, right?)

The next page is just a simple picture again, this time I used a piece of orange patterned paper as the background. I cut it a little large than my picture (which was about 3x5 in size).

1. Next step was to staple a piece of fabric onto the picture.

2. Next I placed the star chipboard over it and adhered on the number 5.

3. I wanted journaling on this page to, so I turned the page over..

4. then I adhered one of the "tags" from the argyle paper to the back and wrote my journaling

and then put it inside of my book!

We are onto number 6! Number 6 is another transparency from Daisy D's.

1. simple - just use one of the journaling stickers and chipboard circles and place on the number.

2. place this in line behind number 5!

Page number 7! This is another one of the Chipboard book pages.. third in the line.

1. Cut two large strips of paper and place them on the left hand side of page.

2. First place one of the "tags" from the argyle paper overlapping the papers. Next place the blue Etsy tag onto the page.

3. Place a stamped chipboard arrow with the number 7 on it.. over the tag.

Then add your journaling and you are done!

Number 8 is once again.. one of  the "note cards" from the Teresa Collins "note card Paper.

1. Cut a strip of orange pp paper and place it on the lower right hand side of the page. Overlap one of the blue coupon tags and the number 8 on the tag. I added the "title and word to the page on the tag and topped it off with a button.

Getting close! almost done! We are onto number nine. This one is easy again.. just a transp.

1. Overlap one of the stickers onto the page and staple

2. Add journaling and a button plus the number 9 from your punch-out sheet.

This is a finished picture of the page.. simple.. but he knows he's handsome!  :)

This is how it fits into the book! So fun!

Okay! Onto to the last page.. (or you can keep going if you want!.. just add more inner pages before you add this one).

I used the same technique on this page as I did on the first, by stamping randomly on the page first. You can see how the papers fit over it below.

1. I forgot to take a picture of just the paper before  I put the tags on, sorry.. but basically it was just a  large rectangle paper and then a strip of the blue circle paper overlapped at the bottom.
Next I placed one of the brown "name" tag sheets over and then a journaling tag over that.

2. Next was to add the picture (had to have a picture on the final page)

3. Next add the stickers "YOU" to the top left hand side.

4. Then add your journaling

5. Next was to add a circle sticker and the number "10" to the page.

Here is a faraway sample of that.

6. Again, Like to add texture to the page, so this time like on page 2, I added rubons across the letter "YOU" to give them more depth.

7. I also added some rubons overlapping the black space on my picture.

8 Then my page was done!

Here.. are some more pictures of the front cover and some up close pictures..  can't wait to see what you do! Hugs!
