Rock and Roll Project Kit

Who doesn't love a little bit of Rock and Roll? I do and I was excited to bring back a boy project kit.. perfect for all the boys or men in your life! But don't let the color scheme fool you.. this kit would be perfect for all those summer photos as well! This is an easy chipboard album book that can be completed in no time at all! Enjoy!

This album really is super easy to complete. I haven't added my pictures, yet, but I did decorate it and kept it simple, so when I am ready, I can just paste them in!

STEP 1
First take apart your chipboard album, by opening up the rings and taking off each letter.

Next I cut a 1" strip of brown polka paper (it's the backside of the plaid paper), and pasted it along the edge of the L

Then flip your L over and trace it onto the backside of the Making Memories Guitar Paper. Trace out the L shape, then cut out paper.

Next I simply cut some of the side off of the paper I just traced  using my zigzag scissors and pasted it onto the L, making sure to show the polka dot paper on the side (by overlapping it, but not covering it completely)

Next I cut a piece of ribbon and first glued it, then stapled it to the L as shown

The chipboard is thin enough that a stapler will go through it, so have fun with it! Staple are a great way to add detail to a page!

Next I added some of the word Fetti, along with the metal star. I also placed a brad on top of the metal star, for more detail using a glue dot.

Then for a final touch, I added 3 rubon stars around the metal star, to give it even more dimension

Here is  a picture of the finished L piece.

If you want, you can also cut out a piece and cover the back of your L as well, or paint it, ink it.. or leave it plain, as I did. .

Letter O

I used two papers to cover the main part of the letter "O". First I cover the circle with the green paper then I cover the side of the O with the orange hounds- tooth.

Next I cut a strip of the brown diamond paper and adhered it in the middle of both papers and then cut a piece of the airplane ribbon and stapled overlapping the brown paper and the green paper, to finish off the look.

Here you can see the staple detail.

Next I cut a round piece of blue paper slightly larger than the circle of the "o" and glued it behind the opening of the "o" this is optional as you could also use a photo, or just leave it open! I then placed a Sticker, brad, and rubons, near the side of the o, for detail.

For the Letter V I used the Orange embellishment paper to cover the entire piece. Then I used the canvas alphabet stickers and created the word "BOYS"

I added detail to the stickers by using rubons and gems over them.

E is the last letter to cover, and I used the plaid paper from Making Memories.

I used one of the coupon tags, and folded in half and stapled it to the end of the E as shown.

Then I added fun details using stickers, rubons and gems. This would be a great place to also add the date of your event or name details.

Here is another angle..

I also used three other pieces to help create the insides of the book. First I used another coupon tag and added a rubon to the top. I distressed it a little to add texture.

This tag will be placed in the book on one of the rings. It will be great for names, places, dates.. little information like that.

The next piece is the alphabet tag that was in your button bag.  The alphabet is already stamped for you but I added more detail by adding a couple of rubons to the bottom of the page.

You can leave this tag just as is, or add maybe a small picture to it..

The last insert to our book is the notebook sheet you received in your kit. Each kit had a different sheet, so yours may look different than the one shown, all were different.. yet equally as cute and will work well for this project.

First you need to punch two holes down the side to place them in your book.

Next I stamped the Boy stamp from this kit onto the corner of the page, then added some rubons details as  well.
I think this page is a PERFECT spot to add journaling about the event or place or people you are doing the book on!

Now let's put the book back together.

Starting with the letter "L..

Then add the blue coupon tag, on the third ring, then the letter "o" behind it.

Next add the alphabet tag on the top ring, with the letter "v" behind it.

Last add the note sheet page, to the top two rings with the letter "e" behind it.

and then you are all finished! You can top it off with some ribbon down the side of the rings, or leave it plain!
